Vivo‘s upcoming flagship foldable device, the X Fold 4, is expected to be unveiled in the third quarter of this year. According to leaked information, the new model will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and offer more powerful hardware features than its predecessor. With this new device, the Chinese tech giant aims to strengthen its position in the foldable phone market with premium features.
Coming with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a larger battery
According to leaked information, the Vivo X Fold 4 will be equipped with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 found in the X Fold 3. This upgrade will provide the device with higher performance and energy efficiency. Although there is no mention of a Pro version yet, given Vivo’s past strategies, the possibility of introducing a Pro model with a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in the future seems high.
The new foldable device will not only offer improvements in terms of the processor but also in battery capacity. Rumors suggest that the X Fold 4 will come with a 6,000 mAh battery capacity. This is quite an impressive value among today’s foldable phones, promising long hours of use. Moreover, significant updates are expected in the camera system as well. The Vivo X Fold 4 is said to feature a 50-megapixel main camera sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle camera.
Design-wise, it is mentioned that the Vivo X Fold 4 will come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the device is expected to have an IPX8 certification for water resistance, a rare feature for foldable phones. Lastly, on the display side, it is said to offer a large AMOLED panel with a high refresh rate and minimal bezels.
